The Event

The first TEDxKidsPortoSeguroSchool took place in 2016 under the theme “Children: Future Visions and Voices”. Realized in Oscar Niemeyer auditorium at Colégio Visconde de Porto Seguro, the event featured 34 speakers of ages 9 and 10. The first edition was so successful, that the following in the year 2017 demanded great attention from us by selecting the lectures, so excited the children were to share their ideas. In the edition that covered the topic “Children: Guardians of Tomorrow multiple ideas to share the world”, 44 speakers put on a real show of ideas worth sharing. 2019 edition, which took place in Vladislovas Polisaitis auditorium on Valinhos Campus, followed the theme “Creativity and Diversity”, maintained the same dynamics of the previous years and featured 26 speakers.

In 2021, we once again innovated and hosted the first online edition of TEDxPortoSeguroSchool, which searched for high-school students who had good stories and innovative proposals for the world. In the theme “Pandemics: Year Zero. Shall we start over?”, 18 speakers shared their breakthrough stories and ideas to improve life quality.

TEDxPortoSeguroSchool 2023 is going to take place in Vila Andrade auditorium with the theme “Opportunities”. It will be a great occasion for the 14 speakers to present their projects to the world.

Song: Set fire to the rain – Fraser T. Smith

My name is Stephanie Barbosa, and I am 15 years old. I started singing when I was 7 years old (in 2014). Music has always moved me deeply, which explains why I sing: it is just a consequence of my eagerness to express myself through music.

Song: Te Quero – original (with guitar)

I am 17 years old. I sing since I was little, but I only started composing when I was 14 years old. My inspiration in music is always embodied in the people who were or still are part of my life. Music helps me express my feelings.
